Recently, I've given a lot of thought to perspective. I've come to realize that our way of viewing is everything. The lens by which we see the world shapes every facet of our existence.
As the days fly by, the hours not seeming to lend enough seconds and minutes to all that lies before us, feelings of overwhelm can captivate our souls. But why? Why do we let it?
There's a bible verse I always run to whenever things begin to look bleak and the stresses of this earthly world are weighing too heavily upon my shoulders. This is the verse that pulls me back, leads me back, reintroduces faith into my heart, and propels me forward in Christ.
"Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous
"Fear not, for I am with you..." A most powerful sentiment spoken with such conviction. What a testament it is to who Jesus is and who he wants to be for us. The maker of heaven and earth, here with us always. There's nothing that brings more peace to my soul than this, this notion that I am never alone even in times of darkness, times of struggle, times of failure. God is and always will be with me.
This knowledge transforms my perspective, shaping how I see even the smallest of moments, shaping how I live my life entirely. It gives me the strength, the courage to live my life fearlessly, to walk with my head held high and to never let a setback stop me from keeping on the path I'm set out for. I'm steadfast in knowing that I am not and never will be alone.
My perspective lends toward positivity because I know that Jesus has a beautiful plan for my life that is better than even my wildest dreams. So instead of worrying about tomorrow, I should be focusing on today, focusing on the glory of time and the beauty in perspective. How we view our lives is up to us, how joyfully our hearts feel is up to us, and that's a powerful realization.
